Destination wedding in Italy sounds like a dream to many couples - but also to wedding photographers. Since I am a photographer based in Croatia, it was relatively easy getting there and I enjoyed every minute of photographing a wedding in Tuscany.

The whole story took place in the municipality of Carmigiano, 15 kilometers away from Florence. The newlyweds chose Artimino as their place for taking romantic photos, and after the wedding they organised a dinner and celebration at Villa Fattoria La Serra. Everything in the stone, surrounded by vineyards, represented an idyllic image and a true sense of Tuscany that they wanted to convey to their guests who mostly came from Croatia.

This Italian wedding concept was not a classic, and it is also a common feature of destination weddings as newlyweds want to offer their guests a special experience. Everyone met at the church and after the wedding ceremony, the party took place in Villa Fattoria La Serra. Everybody was enjoying cocktails by the pool followed up by a gourmet dinner made up of Italian specialties. The dinner was done in one sitting without a break, after which everyone moved in front of the villa by the pool where the newlyweds were cutting the cake. The party was over at 1am, giving guests plenty of time to rest and continue exploring the beautiful location the next day.

Photographing a wedding in Italy was a dream come true, and I hope to go back soon to this amazing country with gorgeous landscapes and a truly unique culture.
