12 Essential Questions to Ask Your Destination Wedding Photographer in Europe

Choosing the perfect destination wedding photographer in Europe is a crucial part of planning your special day. After all, these are the memories you'll cherish for a lifetime. To help you in the booking process, I've compiled a list of essential questions to ask wedding photographer - with my answers included. By asking these questions, you'll gain a better understanding of my style, experience, and approach, ensuring you make an informed decision.

How would you describe your photography style?

Different photographers have distinct styles, such as photojournalistic, traditional, or fine art. Understanding the photographer's approach will help you determine if their style aligns with your vision for your wedding photos.

My photography style blends photojournalism and fine art, focusing on Europe's captivating destination weddings. I capture spontaneous moments, elegant poses, and unique details, using natural light and occasionally flash for dynamic results.

With true-to-color edits and an eye for symmetry and patterns, I document your love story authentically. I help couples feel at ease with gentle guidance, striking a balance between candid and posed shots.

I give my undivided attention to the couple and the intricate details that make their wedding unique. My photography style showcases the emotion, beauty, and individuality of each celebration, providing a visual legacy that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Can we see a full gallery?

Viewing a complete wedding gallery will give you a more comprehensive idea of the photographer's work, including their ability to capture various moments and emotions throughout the day.

Of course! I understand how important it is for couples to see a complete representation of my work. I'm more than happy to share full galleries of weddings I've shot, so you can get a clear picture of my style and consistency throughout the entire wedding day. Just let me know, and I'll gladly provide access to those galleries.

How many weddings have you photographed?

Experience matters, especially when it comes to destination weddings. A seasoned wedding photographer with specific experience in European destination weddings will be better prepared to handle unexpected situations, adapt to different environments, and navigate the unique challenges of shooting in various countries.

Over the years, I've had the incredible opportunity to shoot around 100 weddings across some of the most breathtaking locations in Croatia, Italy and Belgium. This year, I'm beyond thrilled to be expanding my horizons even further, as I'll be traveling to Italy, Sweden and the Netherlands to capture more love stories. With each new destination wedding, I can't wait to see where my photography journey will take me next!

Do you have backup equipment?

Technical issues can happen, so it's essential to know if your photographer carries backup equipment to ensure they're prepared for any eventuality.

As a professional destination wedding photographer, I understand the importance of being prepared for any situation. That's why I always carry backup gear to ensure that I can capture your special day without any disruptions. My backup equipment includes extra cameras, lenses, memory cards, and batteries, so that no matter what challenges may arise, I'll be ready to document every precious moment.

What is included in your packages, and what are the prices?

Understanding the details of the photography packages will help you determine if they fit within your budget and meet your requirements.

My wedding photography packages are designed to cater to the unique needs and preferences of each couple. They include various options for coverage hours and delivery time, ensuring that you get the perfect fit for your special day.

My prices start at around 2,500 euros, and each package can be customized to match your specific requirements. If you would like additional coverage, I offer the option to hire an associate shooter or even a whole team to ensure every aspect of your day is captured. Additionally, I provide the service of creating gorgeous wedding books, which serve as a beautiful keepsake to cherish your memories.

By offering a range of options, I aim to provide a personalized experience that reflects the essence of your love story while delivering exceptional quality and unforgettable memories.

How many hours of coverage are included?

Knowing the duration of coverage will help you plan your wedding day timeline and ensure all essential moments are captured. For destination weddings, it's crucial to consider events like welcome dinners, rehearsal dinners, or day-after brunches when discussing coverage hours with your photographer.

As a destination wedding photographer, I understand that every wedding is unique and requires different levels of coverage. That's why I offer a range of packages that cater to your specific needs, from a few hours of coverage to full-day or multi-day coverage. Whether you're planning an intimate elopement or a grand celebration, I have a package that suits you.

Will you be the one photographing our wedding, or do you have a team?

Confirming who will be photographing your wedding guarantees you're comfortable with the person responsible for capturing your memories.

As a destination wedding photographer, I personally shoot all my weddings to maintain the consistent quality and style that my clients expect. However, for more in-depth coverage and to ensure that every moment is captured, I can bring an associate shooter that will work under my supervision. Regardless, I will personally curate and edit all photographs. This allows me to deliver a comprehensive collection of photographs while maintaining my signature style and attention to detail.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

Engagement sessions are an excellent opportunity to get comfortable with your photographer and practice posing before your big day.

I offer engagement sessions to all of my wedding clients, and I highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity. Not only do these sessions allow us to get to know each other better and build a comfortable rapport, but they also provide a wonderful way to capture some stunning photos of the two of you before your big day. Plus, who wouldn't want to have a romantic photo shoot in the gorgeous streets of Paris, the canals of Venice, or the historic landmarks of Rome? Whether you choose one of these iconic destinations or another spot that holds special meaning to you, I'm always excited to capture your love story in a way that feels authentic and personal to you.

What is your turnaround time for delivering the final images?

Understanding the delivery timeline will help you manage your expectations and plan for sharing your images with family and friends.

My delivery time for wedding photos usually ranges from 4 to 12 weeks, depending on the specific package you choose. However, I also offer the option to upgrade to a rush delivery time if you need your photos sooner. My priority is to provide you with high-quality, carefully edited images that beautifully capture your special day. However, I always send sneak peek pictures within 48 hours of your wedding day.

Can we provide a shot list?

A shot list ensures your photographer captures all the essential moments and group photos that are important to you.

Yes, I encourage my clients to provide a shot list for their wedding day, especially for the family photos that are important to them. It's also helpful if they provide a mood board that reflects the overall aesthetic and feel they envision for their wedding. This helps me better understand their style and preferences and ensures that I capture the moments that are most meaningful to them. However, I also like to remind my clients that capturing candid moments and unexpected details is equally important, and these can't always be planned ahead of time.

Can we request specific editing styles or retouching?

Discuss your preferences for editing and retouching to ensure your final images align with your vision.

I love to work with clients who appreciate my artistic approach and editing style. If you're in search for a photographer with dark and moody edit, muted highlights, fade effect and similar, I might not be a right fit. I love to keep my edit clean, bright and timeless. To ensure that my clients receive the best possible photos, I do some basic retouching such as fixing blemishes and removing distracting elements. However, I believe in capturing the true essence of the wedding day and preserving memories as they were created, so heavy retouching is not my style. I aim to provide clean and natural-looking photos that will stand the test of time and be cherished for years to come.

How do we secure our booking with you?

Ask about the booking process, including signing a contract and paying a deposit, to ensure your wedding date is reserved.

Booking your wedding photography with me is a simple and straightforward process. Once you decide to work with me, we will sign an agreement that outlines all the details and expectations for your wedding photography. After that, a deposit will be required to secure your date, which can be done electronically for your convenience.

Once the booking process is complete, we can begin planning and discussing your wedding day, including sharing moodboards and scheduling calls to ensure that everything is perfectly tailored to your preferences and vision for your special day.

I believe that the booking process should be stress-free and enjoyable, and I strive to make it as seamless as possible so that you can focus on enjoying the rest of your wedding planning process.
